The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) serves as the national focal point for the development and delivery of emergency management training. EMI curricula, including the Independent Study Program (ISP) courses, are structured to meet the needs of a diverse audience with an emphasis on how the various elements work together in emergencies to save lives and protect property.

The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium provides some good online training and resources for emergency first responders, with an emphasis on rural areas. Trainings are certified by the US Department of Homeland Security and provided at no cost

Disaster Behavioral Health

Established by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Disaster Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) supports SAMHSA's efforts to prepare States, Territories, Tribes, and local entities to deliver an effective mental health and substance abuse (behavioral health) response to disasters.
